- Revise 6 chapters. Yes. You read correctly 😛 Hubby is going on business trip Saturday morning which means I can use the entire weekend to revise. And I will. Hold me to it!
The last picture is a door behind a fortress from the 17th century…
What inspires me right now
The encouraging comments you posted on my blog last week when I felt bad about not writing. Thank you!
The time I got to spend with my family, reminding myself to slow down and to enjoy those moments.
Reading novels that remind me how I wish people could get lost in a story I create.

I can’t wait to check all your posts and see what you’ve been up to 🙂
Beautiful photos, Elodie! Looks like you had a good week. I’m so glad you’re loving the SUMMER trilogy. Such beautiful, heart-wrenching books. I can’t wait to see what you think of the conclusion! And yay for revision progress! One chapter is a great start in getting back into the swing of things. Best of luck with your six chapter goal this week. ❤
Your pictures are lovely, Elodie, and I especially love the one of the 17th century door. It looks like it could inspire a whole story! Great job on meeting your goal this week! I know what you mean about hitting the delete button so much. Like you, I usually find my stories are better off for it in the end too, even if it’s hard to part with the words. Good luck revising your next six chapters, and thanks a bunch for that awesome parcel! (not sure if you saw my email or not and I know you were super busy this weekend) 🙂
You are teasing me with that picture! Although I did serve very yummy key lime cheesecake at book club last night. Now I kind of want to have another piece for breakfast.
Also, yay for revising!!! I can’t wait to read this so I hope you get tons of revising done this week! Go, Elodie, GO!!!
Congrats on revising that chapter! Revising for me is like giving myself stitches without anesthetic, so I feel your pain. I’m cheering for you for next week. Six chapters, go you!
And your pictures are absolutely lovely! I I want that coffee and dessert…um nowish. 🙂 And the last shot is so very cool. I love hidden doorways.
I want that cake. Now! 🙂
Congrats on revising! I’ll be rooting for the six chapters you want to tackle this week. Go, Elodie, go!
That cake looks sooooo gooood! And that final photo is so inspiring. Oooh, I can feel my imagination firing up. Thanks for sharing, and have a fantastic week.
I’m on the first book of the SUMMER trilogy and I already have the feeling I’ll fall in love.
The fortress pic is so cool 🙂
Good luck with you revising – you can do it!!!
So chatting about the SUMMER series on Twitter was tons of fun. You ladies are making me want to finish the series right away. I’ve always meant to, I just got distracted by a million other great reads. Oh to have more time just for reading, right? That’s awesome that you got through revising a chapter, Elodie! And even awesomer that you’re going to have more time to spend on your story this week. It’s not fun having your hubby gone, I’m sure, (mine has been gone for a couple weeks now), but it does allow you to get lots done.
Sounds like you had a great time with your family. Finding new places around where you live is always fun. 🙂
Aww, how fun that you got to hang out with your family and your husband’s family! I’ll be doing that next weekend, when my mom and stepdad come to visit. I can’t believe you’re already revising again–you’ve lapped me! Hopefully I’ll kick it into high gear and close in on the end of my first draft this week, but even still, it looks like your MS might be ready to come to me before mine is ready to come to you! (Which would be ok by me–I’m dying to read this one!)
I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve read a novel, engrossed in the world, hanging on every line, and thought, “if only my novel could be *this* good!” Some people might despair and give up. It challenges me to be better. 🙂
I hope you have a really productive weekend, Elodie! And safe travels to the Chemical Engineer. 🙂
I read The Summer I Turned Pretty, though I enjoyed it I didn’t love it enough to continue with the series, but I know I’m in the minority when it comes that. Awesome job revising! Good luck with your goal this week!
I LOVE that hidden door picture. Just looking at it makes me want to write a fantasy, and I’m totally a contemporary girl. Also congrats on getting back into writing/revising. Sometimes it’s easy to get out of the habit of writing, but hopefully this next week will get you so hooked on your story you can’t stop.
Family time sounds great! And what beautiful pictures 🙂 Hope you have a good writing week!
Lovely pics! So glad you’ve gotten the chance to revise– well done! Those Jenny Han books are the best! She has created such a great beach town and those characters– wow– love them.
THE SUMMER I TURNED PRETTY has been on my list for a while…I might have to grab a copy now! And good for you, setting the revising goal high. I always find it’s so much easier to write/revise/work when I’m in the house by myself, not surrounded by my distracting family!
Good luck this week! 🙂
SO glad you’re enjoying the series. It’s SO good!!!!!
Progress is progress! Hmm..wish I could send hubs on a business trip so I could get some extra writing time. Well, if he could take kiddo too. Good luck this week!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh Pretty pics! Love seeing them on instagram!
While I’m sure you’ll miss your husband, it’ll be nice to have alone time to get lots of writing done. I always like being home alone for that reason 🙂
I need to read that series! It’s been on my list for awhile but I just haven’t gotten around to it yet. Glad to hear it’s good!
Congrats on revising a chapter. I bet that feels awesome! Good luck with your writing goals! Have a great weekend revising!
Hey, sometimes all you get written in a day is a sentence and that’s still doing pretty well. And we definitely need to take time off for writing every now and then. Living is the very most important thing, and writing is somewhere pretty close behind. 🙂
I love that you’re challenging yourself with that goal! As much as I love writing, every once in a while when I see that free block of time I tend to think of non-writing things to do (sleep, mostly. :). I’m looking forward to finding out how you did next week! 🙂
Lovely photos! I’m glad you enjoyed time with your family.
Yay for getting back into revising! Good luck with your 6 chapters this week – you can do it!!
I loved THE SUMMER I TURNED PRETTY and the rest of that trilogy. So glad you do too! If I didn’t have so many books in my TBR pile to read, I’d totally re-read these books. One of these days!
The Summer Series is one of my most favorite ever. It’s amazing, too, because they’re not super long books, but they pack a punch.
You go and your revisions…get it girl! I hope you have a wonderful week!
