What I´m reading
I beta read an awesome manuscript. Yes for beta reading! And I’ve started THE SUMMER I TURNED PRETTY. I’m in dire need to Summer books…set at the beach 🙂
What I’m Writing

I have a confession to make. And it pains me to say it but I didn’t write anything.  Well I did but it was for work…I feel like the most-awful-host-of-any-writing-intensive ever. No, really. Ever.
Basically I was too caught up at work and my writing time became extra working time…I know excuses excuses 😦
This week, I will get back to it – I will revise at least one chapter.
What else I´ve been up to
This weekend I attended an amazing concert (thanks again hubby!). I danced and sang so loud I almost lost my voice. It was just a great moment and will stay in my mind as a wonderful memory to look back to.
The hubby before the concert started

Zaz – love her!

What inspires me right now

Smiles.

People working toward their dreams.

Dreams.

  1. Oh, Elodie! Please DO NOT feel bad about not writing! We all have weeks like that! Also, you were BUSY. So, no feeling bad. That’s an order. 🙂

Also, yay for concerts! I really want to go see Maroon 5 in September. My daughter says that would be an awesome birthday treat for myself (and her)

I hope you have a wonderful week and that you are able to work on revisions. I have purely selfish reasons for wanting you to finish GUILTY. 🙂

  2. I can definitely relate to feeling guilty about not writing, but of course you’ll get back into the swing of things eventually.

I must admit, I’ve never been to a concert. It looks like I’m missing out on a lot. Maybe someday. Anyway, thanks for sharing a little bit of your life with us.

  3. Sometimes I feel really guilty when I don’t write but there are times when you just can’t and that’s okay! Hopefully you’ll get a lot of writing done this week, and revise the heck out of that chapter.

And beta-reading an awesome ms is one of the best feelings in the world. I love beta-reading almost as much as I love writing.

Good luck with your goals this week. 🙂

  4. Ohhhhh that concert looks like it was a lot of fun!!!

And sometimes we need a break from writing 🙂 I still can’t wait to read your book, though, so don’t let the break last too long!!!

  5. Oh, Elodie… I love THE SUMMER I TURNED PRETTY and the rest of the trilogy SO MUCH. Those books have some of the hardest hitting emotional moments I’ve read… Seriously heartbreaking. I love silly Belly and I was super invested in who she’d end up with. I think she made the right choice, eventually. 🙂 Please let me know what you think when you finish reading!

Best of luck finding time to write in the coming week. I’ll be around Twitter if you need a buddy!

  6. I loved THE SUMMER I TURNED PRETTY and the rest of the trilogy, too! Enjoy!

Don’t feel bad about not writing much this week! It’ll be there when you have time to get back to it! And THANK YOU again for fitting in reading my manuscript in the midst of your busy work schedule–you’re the best!!!

  7. OMG!!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE that series!!! I gobbled it up last summer. So good. Ah. Sometimes you need a break. You’ll crank out those words this week! No doubt on that. And YAY… fun concert!! Glad you get to have some summer fun.

  8. Sometimes life just takes over doesn’t it? I had quite a lean writing week too, but I’m hoping to make up for it this week 🙂

The concert looks fantastic. It’s been ages since I’ve been to an open air concert or even a concert!

Have a great week and thanks for the giveaway. I can’t believe we’re half way through!

  9. Ugh, work will do that! I definitely know that once I start working for real in the fall I will have weeks like that (I’ll be lucky if I can keep them from being months like that!) But glad you’ve been reading and concert-going and generally doing good things 🙂

  10. Sounds like you had a great week even if you didn’t get much writing in. I can totally relate to having to give up writing time for work. I’ve been so thankful for the writing intensive because it’s helped me get my writing in anyway and not feel bad when I can’t. I’m so thankful you guys are hosting this! I hope this next week calms down for you so you can get back into things.

  11. I loved THE SUMMER I TURNED PRETTY and the other books in that series. So good! I hope you enjoy them as much as I did.

Don’t feel bad about not writing, Elodie. You’ve had a lot on your plate with work lately and your job entails doing something pretty huge! Plus, on top of that you handled all the rafflecopter stuff for our giveaway. I’d say that’s being a good host, even if time didn’t permit you to write this week! Best of luck with that chapter revision and be encouraged! You’re doing awesome as a writer and a host!

  12. I’m in need of a good concert. Your week sounds amazing to me despite not getting in the writing. I write for work too and sometimes it’s all I can do to not shove it to the side and write on my WIP instead.

  13. I didn’t write this week either. I’m not happy about it but life happens sometimes Hopefully we will both have wonderful writing weeks this time!

  14. Don’t be too hard on yourself, Elodie. Everybody has those weeks (sometimes longer) when it just doesn’t happen with writing. I had one recently too. The nice thing is that we know the opposite is also true. Sometimes we have AWESOME weeks with writing and feel so good about what we’ve accomplished. I know you’ll have another week like that soon. 🙂 Maybe this week even!

I read THE SUMMER I TURNED PRETTY last year sometime and I have the other two sitting on my shelf waiting to be read. I really should get to them this summer because they’re the perfect beach/seaside/summer reads. 🙂

  15. We all have those weeks where work and other things get in the way – don’t feel bad!

I picked up the Summer I Turned Pretty trilogy the other day at the library, only when I got home, I realized I’d grabbed Book 2, Book 3 and…Book 2 again. Oops! In my distraction, I wish I could have at least gotten the first book. Back to the library I go!

  16. Sometimes life gets in the way of the best-planned goals, and that’s okay. I’m just glad to hear you got some time to read and have some fun with at the concert besides all the work-for-work. Good luck on getting a bit more time this week!

  17. I’m right in there with everyone telling you not to beat yourself up about not getting any writing done. This doesn’t mean you’re not a writer any more–it just means you’re a person with a life. Who knows–maybe this break from writing will give you fresh impetus to write this week?

Oh, and I have to tell you–there was a character on a TV show I saw this past week whose name was Elodie. She wasn’t a main character, but nevertheless, it was the first person I’d heard of called Elodie apart from you, and it made me think of you. 🙂

All the best for this week’s writing!

  18. Sounds like a great concert. It’s okay to take a break every now and then. Don’t want to miss out on life. I find people working toward their dreams inspiring, too.

  19. I hope you love Summer I turned Pretty. I fell head over heels over that series and I think Jenny Han just writes in such a sweet, nostalgic way. ❤

And girl, don't feel bad about not writing!!!
