What´s up Wednesday is the brainchild of Jaime and Erin. It´s a way to keep in touch in just four headings…Go check out Jaime’s blog to add your link if you’re participating…
Ready Set Write Surprise: We’re organizing something special for you next week! RSW ends in one week. I know, crazy. The summer passed by quite quickly and so many things happened in just a few months! We (Alison, Katy, Erin, Jaime and I) would like to thank you for participating and we want to celebrate your success by offering fresh pairs of eyes on your work. While we all agree that we’re no experts (i.e. agent, editor, freelance editor…), we know how helpful beta readers can be. So each one of us is offering feedback on the first ten pages of your story. Yes–that’s FIVE critique giveaways! All you have to do is pop in next Wednesday (August 28th) and enter via Rafflecopter. The giveaway will be open internationally but only to RSW participants 🙂
THANK YOU AGAIN SO MUCH!
And now let’s tune in to your regular programming…
What I´m reading
I’ve just started a new book (thanks to Netgalley) called POOR LITTLE DEAD GIRLS. I do find myself analyzing the plot and structure a tad more than usual. Like my writer brain is focusing on the details I might normally overlook because it’s in full revision mode. The start is a bit slow but I’m intrigued and am looking forward to find out more about the story.
What I’m Writing
I revised one chapter this week! Yay! I know it’s less than what I wanted to achieve BUT getting back to my manuscript felt great and I feel like this revision is taking my WiP to a better place.
What else I´ve been up to
Last week, the Chemical Engineer and I were in Tuscany. It was simply gorgeous (see pictures here).
Sunday I celebrated my birthday. My amazing hubby took me out for a great brunch..
Hmmm Kir Royal 🙂
Yesterday we celebrated our wedding anniversary…We’ve almost been together for 10 years (married for two) and this is the man I want to grow old with. The one who makes me laugh, think, smile, who challenges me and supports me. My best friend. My love.
Every single time I look at this picture, I smile!
The Chemical Engineer brought me flowers on the eve of our Wedding Anniversary 🙂
What inspires me right now
Getting back on track with my revising.
I can’t wait to check all your posts and see what you’ve been up to 🙂

Happy birthday and anniversary, Elodie! And, wow, the wedding picture you shared is absolutely gorgeous and so romantic! Congrats too on managing to revise a chapter with so many wonderful and exciting things going on. The generous critique giveaway you ladies are doing sounds fantastic. It’s pretty amazing there is only one week of Ready, Set, Write left. It’s gone by fast but in a really good and productive way 🙂
Happy Birthday!!!! And Happy Anniversary!!!! Love the flowers and the pictures! What a great week and I love all these pictures!!! So jealous yet so happy for you!
Also, I love that your revisions have inspired you. It’s a great feeling isn’t it?
Happy birthday and anniversary, Elodie!! That picture of you and your husband is so lovely! I love that your revisions have inspired you – they inspire me too (revising is my favorite part – I am drafting now and hate it LOL!). Have a great week and hope you like DEAD GIRLS 🙂
Cool–a week of celebrations, Elodie! How wonderful for you. 🙂 Coming off that kind of high into revisions can either be inspiring or hard–or maybe both! Whichever, I wish you all the best with your goals this week. 🙂
Happy birthday and Happy Anniversary! What a fun week you’ve been having! I love the photo of your wedding day, those sneaky unposed shots are always the best 🙂 I love your hair too.
Congratulations on revising and good luck for this week. I can’t believe it’s the last week. I shall miss RSW!
What a sweet photo of you and your husband! So romantic! Happy anniversary AND happy birthday! Sounds like you’ve had a lovely, festive week! Keep up the great work on your revisions!
Lots to celebrate! Happy birthday and anniversary!!! Thanks for sharing your vacation pics too. Tuscany is so beautiful! Definitely a bucket list item that must be crossed off soon!
I love the sweet pic of your and your hubby, as well as your sentiments. I know how you feel, the ONE is hard to find and not replaceable. I am so jealous of your vacation. Have a wonderful week!
Hooray for revising a chapter! That’s great, Elodie. 🙂 I sometimes set out when I’m reading picking things apart like I’m editing, but then I inevitably get sucked right in to the story. I’m so happy you had a great birthday and anniversary. (Gorgeous pics, by the way!). Your overdue birthday parcel will be in the mail as soon as possible. 🙂

Happy anniversary! That photo from your wedding is beautiful — I can see why it makes you smile!
I hadn’t heard of POOR LITTLE DEAD GIRLS, but it sounds fascinating. I’ve already marked it To-Read.
Best of luck with your revisions this week, Elodie! 🙂
Happy Birthday and anniversary!!! You two look like a fantastic couple. That picture just shouts LOVE.
And Tuscany…I die. I want to go to Italy badly. Instead I’ll just have to live vicariously through you and drool over all your pictures instead. 🙂
Congrats on getting back into your revisions. Hope you have a great week!
