What´s Up Wednesday

What´s Up Wednesday?

What´s up Wednesday is the brainchild of Jaime and Erin.  Here´s what Jaime said about it:

WHAT’S UP WEDNESDAY
It’s similar in some respects to the Currently… post, but it’s been whittled down to only four headings to make it quicker and more manageable on a weekly basis. You’re invited to join us if you’re looking for something to blog about, a way to let your blog friends know what’s been going on with you.
What I´m reading
I’ve just started UNRAVEL ME. I really really enjoyed SHATTER ME so I have quite high hopes for this one.
What I’m Writing
I’ve received very encouraging and helpful comments on the first chapter of  GUILTY (Thanks again Jaime and Alex). This gave me a boost and I’ve made quite some progress in the past days. I don’t know if I can be done with my first draft by next Thursday but I sure am going to try.
Here´s a snippet of what I wrote last night.
“That and you´ve been crushing on him for how long? Don´t get me wrong, I´m happy you´re finally acting on your animal urges but don´t get your heart broken. Or his.” Kelsey´s tone becomes softer.
“I won´t. I´m Iron Erin, remember?”
“Yeah, oooooooooooookay. And I´m Virgin Kelsey.” She pauses and laughs. “Wait, I am.”
“Luke still didn´t get lucky?”
“Nope. No luck for Luke. But he did get further than last week. My sex report card says ´In progress. Keep up the good work.`”
What else I´ve been up to
Business trips. Last week I was in Bratislava for 2 days. Again didn’t see much from the country but what I saw makes me want to go back with my hubby.
From the Official Tourism Guide of Bratislava
After coming back, I got a bit sick so stayed home on Monday. I watched a bunch of episodes of Catfish and Cold Case while drinking a lot of tea.
I’ve also been preparing our vacation. We’re leaving next Thursday to the U.S. for 10 days. Looking forward to it.

What inspires me right now

My main character quotes Marilyn Monroe quite a bit so here´s the one that inspired me recently.

So, tell me what´s up?

  1. I really enjoyed SHATTER ME as well, and I thought UNRAVEL ME was a great sequel. Hope you like it too, and I also hope you meet your goal of finishing your first draft soon! Have fun on your vacation! 🙂

  2. I enjoyed UNRAVEL ME, too. I don’t think I’m giving anything away by saying there are some steamy scenes, which were a bit much for me, but others might enjoy.

Bratislava doesn’t immediately strike me as one of those must-visit places, but that picture makes it look nice. Well done to the Bratislavan tourism people!

I hope you have fun in the US, Elodie! 🙂

  3. I really enjoyed UNRAVEL ME, and I was surprised how much I didn’t dislike Warner. That likely has something to do with reading DESTROY ME beforehand. I’m enjoying SERAPHINA, but I think whatever I read next should have more swoon. 🙂

I’m kind of ashamed to admit that I don’t know exactly where Bratislava is. It looks lovely, though. You must be getting so excited about your trip to the U.S. I’m kind of envious. 🙂

  4. The fact that your new MC quotes Marilyn Monroe makes me immediately love her. My newest MC takes her fashion sense from Twiggy. Looks like both our fictional girls have vintage tastes. 🙂

  5. That’s so exciting that you’re almost done with your WIP! Love the snippet. 🙂

I wish you were coming closer to my neck of the woods in the US so we could meet!

  6. UNRAVEL ME is a MUST READ. I just have to get my hands on it! I loved SHATTER ME so much so I’m curious to see what happens! Also, I love that Marilyn is your inspiration. James Dean (and his quotes about dreams) inspires me. 🙂 And I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that snippet!

PS – I started ONE, TWO, THREE the other day and am LOVING IT!

  7. I loved SHATTER ME and UNRAVEL ME – just having to wait until next February for the 3rd one, is what slays me!

And I absolutely LOVE Marilyn and that quote of hers! My mom was a big fan of hers growing up, and use to always draw in a beauty mark with an eyeliner pencil, above the left side of her lip – how ironic that I was actually born with one there. 🙂

Where all will you be visiting on your trip to the US? I hope you have a wonderful time, Elodie!

  8. Wow, you get to go to cool places on business! My husband got sent on his first business trip a few weeks ago–to Jackson, Mississippi! Nowhere near as glamorous. Where are you headed in the US? Hope it’s a good trip!
