What´s Up Wednesday

What´s Up Wednesday?

What´s up Wednesday is the brainchild of Jaime and Erin.  Here´s what Jaime said about it:

WHAT’S UP WEDNESDAY
It’s similar in some respects to the Currently… post, but it’s been whittled down to only four headings to make it quicker and more manageable on a weekly basis. You’re invited to join us if you’re looking for something to blog about, a way to let your blog friends know what’s been going on with you.
What I´m reading
I just finished reading Sara´s wonderful and heartbreaking and hopeful story as well as Alex´s WOW retelling (Les Misérables meets Star Wars – if you click on this link, you´ll even get to read an excerpt). And I´m about to re-read Alison´s wonderful manuscript. I read the entire story already once and have actually read passages several times already (because they´re awesome) but now I need to put my thoughts/comments/gushing/suggestions/smiley faces into an email. Before I do that, I am going to re-read the book from beginning to end one more time.
What I’m Writing
I´m currently taking a short break. I´ve done the first 10-pages bootcamp last weekend and I need to go back to my manuscript to brush it up, add some details and then write the last 15k of it. But I really wanted to catch up on my beta reading and while I usually balance both, this time I decided to beta read “full time”, I´ll be back to my regular writing schedule next week though.
What else I´ve been up to
We´re still settling into our new place. We still have unpacked boxes and we´re still waiting on some things to be delivered. But we´re almost done. I´ve also been enjoying my walk to the train station in the morning 🙂 As you know, work has been super busy. Last week I was in Vienna for a conference. I didn´t have time to really see the city but simply walking from the hotel to the conference was lovely.

And I´ve decided to regain some of my time. I missed the interaction 🙂

What inspires me right now

My writer friends are simply amazing!

My wonderful #PitchWar mentor sold her book BEHIND THE SCENES and two more. I know I cannot wait to read them!!! ❤

So, tell me what´s up?

  1. Vienna, wow!

You’ve definitely been busy! Have fun getting back to writing soon, although beta reading is definitely a great use of time ^_^

  2. Your comments always make ME smile! Thanks for the shout out, and I’m so jealous of all this awesome reading you are doing. Oh, and this: “or when people trusting me with their books become dear friends” – So true, friend. SO TRUE.

    Have a wonderful week!

  3. That’s a lot of beta reading! Sounds like you’ve read some awesome stories, which is great. And wow, I sure wish I had a conference in Vienna. I’m so happy to hear you’re settling into your new place and that your latest writing project is progressing well. Thanks for taking part in our new meme! 🙂

  4. Les Miserables meets Star Wars?! That sounds AWESOME! Sounds like you’ve been reading some really great stuff lately. 🙂 I’m rooting for you on that last 15K of your WIP. You can do it! Maybe in that same time period of time I’ll finish my rewrite and we can swap again. Looking forward to it!

  5. I’ve had the pleasure of beta reading for a couple of friends lately, too. 🙂 It’s always fun to read each other’s manuscripts! So exciting that you’re only 15K from the end of your WIP!!

I’m also so excited for Dahlia! Team Smitten Kittens is doing well!

  6. My writer friends inspire me too. 🙂 I loved your Vienna photos. Looks like such a gorgeous place. Good luck finishing up with your new place. What a relief it will be to be all settled!

  7. Beta reading is such fun! Getting to see what amazing things my writer friends have created is such a privilege. Hope you get all unpacked and settled soon 🙂

  8. Thanks for introducing me to the wonderful world of beta-ing! I’m excited to share my WiP with you when it’s done–it’s a world away from my NaNo draft, although in some ways it’s the same story…it’s just much closer to being my version of that story. I hope I’ll get to take a look at your new project when it’s ready for readers, too 🙂
