Ready Set Write

Ready, Set, Write #RSW2014 – It’s a marathon…not a sprint.

RSWtealpolaroidWelcome back to Ready. Set. WRITE! If you’re wondering what RSW is all about, it’s a summer long writing intensive with the purpose of writing, revising, planning, and keeping each other accountable. We will be sharing our goals on Mondays, keeping our posts BRIEF (2-3 lines per heading) so we can spend more time on writing and less time on blogging. You can sign up at any of the host blogs (Alison‘s,Katy‘s, Erin‘s, Jaime’s) every Monday. And don’t forget to hop around to encourage other participants. HOW I DID ON LAST WEEK’S GOALS

Better than the week before, but I’m still not there.

* I revised 1 chapter ofDADDY´S LITTLE GIRL

* Added about 3000 words to ONE DREAM ONLY

MY GOAL(S) FOR THIS WEEK

* Revise 1 chapters of DADDY´S LITTLE GIRL

* Write 2000 words of ONE DREAM ONLY – the prequel novella of One, Two, Three.

A FAVORITE LINE FROM MY STORY OR ONE WORD/PHRASE THAT SUMS UP WHAT I WROTE/REVISED

I love this one, because it also gives a bit of insight about Emilia. The companion novel ALWAYS SECOND BEST is about her 🙂

Quote ONE DREAM ONLY

THE BIGGEST CHALLENGE I FACED THIS WEEK

Hmmm.

Time, but also something else.

A Shiny. New. Idea.

I know. I know. I am typing a few lines away though, just to make sure I don’t forget it, when I actually do have the time to work on it.

SOMETHING I LOVE ABOUT MY WIP

Drafting. Putting in new words.

Looking forward to cheering you on!

  1. I didn’t reach my set goal for the week either but I’m proud of what I was able to do. And your line definitely makes me want to know why Emilia feels like she is never a priority…even with her parents. It’s telling and sad…Great job!

  2. I love all the gifs! And yay for SNIs! SO curious, lady! Also, I think you did great this week. Especially because you have so much going on! Hope this week is a productive one. You can do it!

  3. SNIs are so distracting sometimes! Glad you’ve found a way to hang on to the idea and continue working on your current work. Hope you meet your goals this week! 🙂

  4. shiny new ideas! Why must you tempt with your delectable new characters and plot?! I have the same problem, but i guess it’s a good thing since it means the imagination well hasn’t dried up yet.

  5. Shiny new ideas are a blessing and a curse. They’ll eat at you for a while until you just write it out. Good luck this week. Thanks for sharing

  6. I like the line you shared, Elodie. 🙂 And you know what? I didn’t quite meet my goal either this week. And that’s okay. Sometimes revising one chapter takes longer than revising another, and sometimes the words we manage to get down take foreeeever, but they’re so much better than the words we’re able to whip off super fast. Either way, you got 3000 words written, which is awesome, while revising another story! I think you’re doing great! 😀

  7. I love your little moving pictures. I need to learn how to do that. Love that you love drafting. It’s always good to love the part you’re in. Have a good week.

  8. Those shiny new ideas are so veryyyy tempting. I think you’re making the right choice of writing down a few words and then tucking it away for later. Then it’s there, you’ve appeased your excitement, but you can still keep focusing on the current WIP. Good luck with this week’s goals!

  9. It’s SO hard just to jot down the ideas for super-fantastic-new-story strikes, but it’s usually the best thing to do. No worries about not hitting the goals. Still, sounds like you got a lot accomplished 🙂

  10. It is a marathon…need to remember that, don’t we? I think you did great this week, especially with a distracting idea floating around. You can totally hit your goals this week–go, Elodie, go!

  11. Love that line, Elodie! You always display the excerpts you share so creatively too. You know, I think you and I have the same taste in names because we both have characters named Lucia and Emelia (I spell Emelia differently, but still, it’s kind of funny. She’s in my second book.) Great minds think alike, I guess! Looking forward to reading your novella when it comes out! Have a wonderful, productive week! 🙂
