Yay, it´s time for Happy Friday 😀 Looking forward to know what made you smile this week!
Don´t forget you can enter my giveaway for a SIGNED copy of MY LIFE NEXT DOOR by Huntley Fitzpatrick (see interview with Huntley and details here)
Writing: So. Something insane happened. I wrote “THE END” to my second WiP. It still seems so unreal to know that I actually managed to write 2 books! Okay I still have a lot to do for both of them but right now I am just relishing the moment 😀
Reading: I loved PUSHING THE LIMITS by (and reviewed it here…) I started SOMETHING STRANGE AND DEADLY by Susan Dennard and wow! No really, WOW! Oh and I am participating in the Something Strange and Deadly Outbreak Contest (Erin has the details 😀) and sent this picture to the lovely ladies who are organizing it. Disclaimer: I was just coming back to work after a long day at work and the train was late but you can see the Rhine in the background…
Query: I received GREAT feedback from the folks over at YALITCHAT.org on my query and then decided to enter Taryn´s contest especially after reading all of her helpful #querycrits tweets. Ladies and gentlemen, Taryn´s suggestions and comments were spot on. She helped my query to become ready to be sent. I know. I can barely think about breathing. Now I just have to polish my manuscript.
I am so thankful for Jaime for all her ideas/comments/suggestions on my chapters because I also have the feeling that thanks to her, my WiP will be much much much stronger/better!!!! (full post on how Jaime has helped me later, promise!) Oh and I am thinking of using Taryn as a beat-reader as part of her Teen Eyes Editorial services…
So, tell me, what made you smile this week?
CONGRATULATIONS!!! What a wonderful feeling to write THE END. I’m so happy for you! And I can’t wait to hear more about your story!
Thank you SOOOO much Alison 😀 I am so excited about this story. I was reading it on my Kindle this morning in the train and it still feels surreal that I wrote all these words, which made sentences and pages and an entire book! It’s the second one but the first one is in dire need of a rewrite while this one almost feels ready! 😀 Hope you had a great weekend!
So awesome that you’re done. I’ll be critiquing one or both of the final chapters today! 🙂 I know my heart started pounding like crazy when I wrote the final paragraph of my WiP. I might have to take Taryn up on some of her services. I was on her site yesterday having a look, and it was very tempting. I’m just really chicken about the whole thing.
P.S. I’m glad my critiques were helpful, and the same goes for you!
Again, MERCI! I was reading my book on my kindle today and it still feels surreal! I revised/edited a lot this weekend, incorporating your suggestions/comments and adding a scene or two while changing another one…Did you hear from Taryn already? Her comments really helped me for my query, I’m sure you’ll have a positive experience too!
Glad you’ve had another great week. 🙂
You must be feeling such relief that another story is finished, despite the grueling work of editing that still needs to be done. Congratulations! 🙂
Thanks! 😀 It is just a wonderful feeling. I was also lucky that my CP gave me a lot of editing suggestions while I was working on the chapters so I spent a lot of time this weekend incorporating them…I started reading the book on my kindle today to gain yet another perspective and take note for when I need to change things. It seems like this book could be ready for beta-readers very soon! 😀
Fantastic! 🙂
Congratulations! What an amazing milestone!
Thanks again Jessica 😀 I am so so sooooo happy to have written those little words and it really feels like it will be ready soon for beta-readers 😀 That’s a tad scary too in a way…:D
Yay for THE END! Best feeling ever! 🙂 This week planning for my girlie’s fifth birthday has made me smile. Though, the fact that she’d nearly five is a little bittersweet!
Thanks Katy 😀 I revised/edited a lot this weekend thanks to Jaime’s comments since I was sending her chapters as I was writing them and my book almost feels ready for beta-readers! 😀 And I cannot wait to get Taryn’s feedback on my first 10 pages to see what she thinks of it!
Those pictures on Instagram are adorable and that cake looked absolutely delicious! Hope you had a great weekend and that your girlie enjoyed her party!
Well done, Elodie! Two novels written–a great achievement. 🙂 The Olympics opening ceremony made me smile. The NBC commentators didn’t. But following Twitter and sharing our mutual frustration at the lame comments on TV helped a lot. 😀
Thanks Colin! 😀 It does feel very nice! Hubby and I recorded the opening ceremony and watched them on Saturday morning, the commentary on German TV was okay 😀 It was a beautiful ceremony!
