What´s up Wednesday? The wow it´s been a long time edition :-)

WUW7

What´s up Wednesday is the brainchild of Jaime and Erin. It´s a weekly meme geared toward readers and writers, allowing us to touch base with blog friends and let them know what’s up. Should you wish to join, make sure to leave a link to your What’s Up Wednesday post in the widget on Jaime´s blog.

It seems like forever since I’ve done a What’s up Wednesday? post…glad to be back.

What I´m reading

I fell into an Abbi Glines frenzy. Ok, maybe not frenzy, but I have been reading a few of her books.
I think they’re addictive.

What I’m Writing

I need to get serious on revising my YA thriller, DADDY´S LITTLE GIRL.
And…I am outlining/researching for the companion novel of One, Two, Three: ALWAYS SECOND BEST.
Which means I am also coming up with a playlist even before writing.

What else I´ve been up to

It seems that the hubby and I might move back to Maryland in October (if all the paperwork goes well).
I quit my job (crazy)
I am trying to prepare, but without having the definite date it is kind of tough. Plus, the hubby is in the US for another project for the month…so…not cool.
I have been doing quite a few interviews and reaching out to bloggers to help promote One, Two, Three. Every review really does count.

What inspires me right now

Voltaire. Always, Voltaire.

I can’t wait to check all your posts and see what you’ve been up to 🙂

  1. Well quitting your job means you’ll have more time to write. And yes reviews are so important and so elusive. Your book is on my TBR…I’m behind in the reading area right now because I’m drafting. But I’ll leave a review as soon as I finish. Happy Writing!!!

    1. Thank you sooooo much 🙂 That is definitely one of the perks of quitting…and yay for my book being on your TBR 🙂

    1. Thank you so much! 🙂 The “more time” will most probably come in a few weeks, right now it’s a bit all over the place. But I’m excited to dive in outlining and editing the other MS 🙂 Hope you’re having a GREAT Friday 🙂

    1. Thank you so much, Tonja 🙂 Those reviews really do help spread the word 🙂 The visa process is moving forward, slowly and fast at the same time. It’s all a bit surreal 🙂

  2. Good luck with the move and job hunt. I too am on it. Good luck revising Daddy’s Little Girl. Any word on what Abbi Glines book to try to read first? she has soooo many

    1. Abbi Glines really does have a loooooot of books out. The first one I read was BAD FOR YOU. So not even in the order of the series, but I truly enjoyed it. Kind of addictive.

Good luck with your job hunt, Rachel! And hope you’re having a wonderful Friday!

  3. I just spent the past half hour (unsuccessfully) searching for my kindle. As soon as I find it, I’ll add One Two Three and post a review. It sounds awesome. Good luck with all the changes going on in your life! Sounds exciting.

    1. Awwww, thank you so much Melanie! 🙂 That’s really nice. Crossing my fingers you enjoy getting to know Nata & Tonio as much as I loved writing them! Hope you’re having a wonderful Friday!

  4. I wish I could find someone to review either of my books, or had the guts to outright ask more people to feature me for a guest post or interview. I always naïvely assumed the writers I knew in the blogosphere were approached by their friends about reviews and guest posts, not that they had to go around asking to be featured.

    Good luck with your move!

    1. Some of the interviews and guest posts I’ve done came from friends approaching me, or even from people I didn’t knopw reading and enjoying my novel…however, in order to reach out to a broader audience, I made a list of bloggers accepting review requests and also made sure to contact those who reviewed me on Netgalley and agreed to be contacted. This really does help. And one blogger on Twitter was mentioning how she understood it is hard to ask, but for them it is also difficult 🙂

For the move, it’s slow moving and fast at the same time. We’re waiting on the finalization of the visa process and I think I’ll really believe it’s happening then 🙂

Hope you’re having a wonderful Friday!

  5. Congrats on quitting your job! It sounds like you have a lot of life changing things coming up. Fingers crossed for you that everything goes smoothly. 🙂
    Great Voltaire quote!

    1. Thanks Kris! The visa process is still on-going and while it sometimes seems slow, it also goes by very fast. Definitely lots of life changing moments ahead: scary but exciting 🙂 Hope you’re having a wonderful Friday!

    1. I find Abbi Glines highly addictive: the recipe for each of her books do not differ much but I still get very invested in the character. I think that’s craft 🙂

Hope you’re having a wonderful Friday, Melanie!

  6. Hey terrific website! Does running a blog such as this take a
large amount of work? I’ve virtually no knowledge of computer programming however I was hoping
to start my own blog soon. Anyhow, should you have any
suggestions or tips for new blog owners please
share. I understand this is off subject but I just wanted
    to ask. Thanks!
