Honeymoon

Road Trip – The ride is everything (for the hubby :D)

Our honeymoon/road trip included something my hubby really wanted: A convertible Mustang…and gosh he had a very hard time saying goodbye to the car as we dropped it off in NYC. We saw so many beautiful things in this car…

Hmm for some reason, I don´t have any pictures of my hair after a ride with the top down…but let me tell you: it was WILD 😀

So tell me, if you could drive anything during  a road trip, what would it be?

  1. A convertible Mustang is the PERFECT car for a road trip!

I’ve learned the hard way that smaller is generally better for road trips. It is no fun to trapped in a huge boat of a Cadillac on long, winding roads that make you want to puke. 😛

    1. 😀 It really was a wonderful car for this road trip. Hubby was ecstatic… And didn´t make me want to puke so that´s a definite plus 😛

    1. It was really really great! Such a wonderful feeling, cruising with the top down (even if hubby took that part to the extreme – top down with all types of weather, lol :D)

  2. Looks like fun! Well, if I could actually drive, I’d probably want it to be something that had ample space for our stuff—I’m an over-packer. O_o Also, something that good really good mileage because I’d hate to waste precious vacation money on something as un-fun as gas. 🙂

    1. It was really amazing! We´re kind of over-packers too so it was a challenge to make sure that everything fit, we had a suitcase on the backseat as well as in the trunk, lol. Surprisingly enough, mileage was very very good on this car 😀

  3. A Mustang is a pretty sweet way to travel. I must say, I’m a little jealous! We usually get the dull, boring ‘economy car’ when we have to rent one. Next time we have to rent a car, maybe I can convince Hubby to ‘go for the gusto’ and splurge on a luxury model like this one! 🙂

    1. We usually get that car when we have to rent one but for the honeymoon, and since we were going to drive almost across the country, hubby wanted something “special road trip” 😀 And it was amazing…:D

  4. Awesome car! I’d ride in a convertible, or–if I’m being practical–some sort of Winnebago thing. Hey, it would save a lot of pit stops! 🙂

    1. It was really amazing 😀 That´s funny you mention the Winnebago, hubby said the next time we do such a loooooong road trip, he´d like to try one out 😀

  5. Nice! If all eight of us were going somewhere, then I think our transportation options would be limited by practical matters like seating and storage. It would be great to have something that has good gas mileage (as Jaime says, you don’t want to be spending all your vacation money on gasoline), but that’s hard to find in a large vehicle. So, I’m not sure exactly what that van/minibus would be, but I don’t think a Mustang would quite cut it for us, as nice as it looks. 🙂

    1. Seating is important 😀 The mustang was quite in terms of mileage (almost as good as an hybrid, according to hubby of course :D). I think we went before with the family we used to live in the US on holidays and we were 7 I think. We definitely were not in a mustang but I remember the fun we had trying to keep the kiddos busy 😀 As a kid, my parents would pack my sisters and I in the backseat and the three of us would sing, fight and tell stories. Loved it 😀

  6. Waaaaayyyy kewl:) My family really does own an old Greyhound bus and they painted it all crazy and we’d go on trips all over the place during summer vacays. It was perfect!

    1. Wow, that also looks like a lot of fun 😀 Any chance, you´d post a picture of that Greyhound bus…:D You must have quite lot of fun memories!

  7. That looks like such fun! I used to have a zippy little VW GTI that handled really tight, had a sun roof and was fire-engine red. That was so fun to drive! Oddly enough, the post I’m getting ready to put up is about a car too – not the GTI but a really junky old clunker that I loved to death. What is it about cars? They have personalities of their own. 🙂

    1. It was really a lot of fun! 😀 I´m going to check that post you´re talking about…cars do have personalities too, I think that´s because they hold so many of our memories inside them!
