Blogme MAYbe, personal

It´s all about me – From A to Z

This month (well until my honeymoon :D), I will be participating in Blogme MAYbe. This wonderful idea is the brainchild of SaraMcClung and is a weekly blog format with an easy schedule to follow. For more information and join the fun (you can at any time!), simply click on the banner created by the super-duper-talented Tracey

On Tuesdays, the prompt is: May I tell you something about myself? Not too long ago, I came across an Alphabet Survey on the lovely Katy Upperman´s blog which she had found on Just Everyday Me…what a perfect way to start Blogme MAYbe (on Thursday, The Chemical Engineer aka my hubby will be back on my blog – and let me tell you – with very useful advice)

It´s all about me – From A to Z

A is for age: The BIG 3-0…turning 31 this year…I´m totally wise (Hubby, stop laughing!)

B is for breakfast today: Maple & Brown Sugar Oatmeal (with a sliced banana and chocolate chips), Coffee

C is for currently craving: The French Toasts my hubby made on Sunday

D is for dinner tonight: Cutlet with spaetzle and mushrooms…

E is for favorite type of exercise: I love swimming (and aqua gym) but I have not had the time to do it in a while so instead I’ll have to go for tennis (I also enjoy pilates, yoga and jogging).

F is for an irrational fear: BIG spiders. I have many fears if I’m honest and I’m working on them but let’s concentrate on spiders. While I used to have a tiny spider as a friend when I was small (I even had given it a name), I’m super duper scared of BIG hairy spiders.

G is for gross food: Not a fan of celery and of cold endive. Everything else is a go in my book.

H is for hometown: A small village an hour north from Paris.

I is for something important: My hubby, my entire family, for sure and my friends.

J is for current favorite jam: Raspberry

K is for kids: None. My husband is a big kid, does he count? 😀

L is for current location: My living room

M is for the most recent way you spent money: Books, quite a wonderful way to spend money!

N is for something you need: Internet, a hug from my hubby, a book, a laugh…I´d also love a massage!

O is for occupation: I sometimes pretend to be Super Woman…:D

P is for pet peeve: People sneezing and coughing in public transportation without covering their mouths. I’m sorry but not a big fan of your germs and people not letting their seats for old people or pregnant ladies. Inconsiderate.

Q is for a quote: So many, so many quotes…I am going to go with this one

Source: etsy.com via Elodie on Pinterest

R is for random fact about you: I slid across three lanes of I-95 S (you know the interstate going towards DC) sideways on my way to school because a truck hit my car. Not fun to see all those cars coming at me. Came out of it with a BIG scare.

S is for favorite healthy snack: A banana or an apple

T is for favorite treat: Coffee at my grandmother’s with the cookies I used to eat as a child. Otherwise, dark chocolate or my sister’s chocolate cake…However, when I want to treat myself, I go to Starbucks and buy a Caramel Macchiato with a Blueberry muffin.

U is for something that makes you unique: My smile? I also lived in 3 different countries, in 13 different apartments/houses and in 7 different cities…

V is for favorite vegetable: I love veggies! Green peas, green beans, carrots, potatoes, tomatoes…

W is for today’s workout: Will do some cardio on my elliptical while watching Friends later on today and might go for a walk with the hubby this afternoon.

X is for X-rays you’ve had: Teeth, arm (broken as a child in two places), lungs, head…

Y is for yesterday’s highlight: Cuddling on the couch with my hubby

Z is for your time zone: Central European Time

The CET countries are in red

So tell me, are you participating in any blogfest this month?

What is your favorite treat? Have you started reading INSURGENT?

  1. Hi Elodie! Nice to meet you. I’m having to get used to all these WordPress blogs…my blogging slackerness has kept me in the dark. *sigh*

Cute Alphabet intro post! We live on opposite sides of the world, but we ate the same breakfast! 🙂

    1. Hello 😀 Waves from Germany! This oatmeal with banana and chocolate is just too yummy to pass on 😀

    1. Great minds do think alike Alison 😀 That accident was very scary and I remember the first thing I did when I came out of the car was to apologize because the car might be broken 😀

  2. First of all, your name is gorgeous. I told people my name was Elodie for three months when I was ten years old (until my parents found out). And I’m super jealous that you’ve lived in so many different places.

I’m participating in Blog Me Maybe, too!
While I haven’t started reading Insurgent yet, I will be as soon as my classes let out today. 🙂

    1. Thank you Kenzie! Your name is lovely as well 😀 Did you really tell people your name was Elodie? When I lived in the US, nobody had heard about that name… I just started INSURGENT this morning and it is WOW! 😀

  3. I also posted this–great minds indeed! I share your pet peeve and your love of veggies!

    1. Great minds do think alike 😀 I really love love love veggies! and I simply do not understand why people do not get up to let older people sit down. The worse which happened to me was to get up to let someone sit and have a seemingly healthy and young person take the seat before that older person could make it….

  4. Loved you ABC list. I did a similar thing a while back but using only one word for each letter. That’s tough! I like the way you added an explanation – much better, I think. The accident sounds very scary! Glad it turned out okay for you. 🙂

    1. Thanks 😀 The accident was super duper scary…it felt like everything was slowing down and I am so lucky nobody else hit me as I crossed the interstate!

  5. Loved learning more about you. I took a cue from you and did the same thing today. 🙂 I’m hoping to join in on the tail end of Blog Me MAYbe when we get back from our trip. Sounds like fun!

    1. 😀 Thanks Jaime! I really enjoyed reading yours as well and that picture of you was just adorable! You should totally join in at the end of May 😀 I’ll have plenty of posts to read when I’m back from my honeymoon 😀

  6. I turned thirty-one this year too! I love the quote you included. Sometimes that’s hard to remember, but it’s so, so true. It was fun to learn more about you today, Elodie! (And no, I haven’t read INSURGENT yet. Soon, though!)

    1. 31 is quite a good age 😀 Sometimes we do get so lost in the moment that we lose perspective. It’s hard to gain it back… I started INSURGENT this morning 😀

  7. Ooo this would have been a good one to start with! I went through about five different topics for Blog Me MAYbe before finally settling for the one I got posted up. It’s nice to know more about you. I have a fear of spiders too. Even the small ones. They scare me so much. *shudders*

    1. Thanks Robin 😀 The one you have posted is very interesting too 😀 I loved to read about your journey!

    1. Klingt gut! I can understand why cake in any form can be your favorite treat. Cakes are just so yummy!

  8. Great list! I’m participating in the Blog Me MAYbe challenge, too.

Chocolate is definitely my favorite treat–whatever type, whatever form. LOL

    1. Well we also know that chocolate is good against stress and all, so I say it’s not only delicious, it helps us stay cool 😀

  9. Nice to meet you Elodie! I love the name. 🙂 I’m slightly jealous that you’ve lived in France and now living in Germany. Wie ist das Wetter in Deutschland? My fave new dessert is called Cherries in the Snow … it’s pretty good. 🙂

    1. Very nice to meet you too 😀 Thank you! Das Wetter is nicht schlecht, schoen gestern und hat schon heute ein bisschen geregnet, und in deinem Gegend? 😀 I am going to have to google Cherries in the Snow … I have no idea what it’s like!

    1. Thanks Crystal! That quote is a good reminder I find 😀 The accident was definitely super scary…but I really came out with no scratches, the car on the other hand didn’t make it.

  10. Whoa. I’m glad you survived the I-95 accident! Scary. The MD/DC/N. Va. portion of 95 is the worst in the entire stretch…and I’ve driven every single mile of 95 many, many, MANY times. (I’ve driven Maine to Miami without stopping, except for gas and food.) And that stretch is The Worst. The construction, the traffic, the insane drivers (and I drive happily in Manhattan and Philly all the time…it’s an easy breeze compared to the Death Race of that part of 95), and it’s a freaking parking lot of you hit it at the wrong time of day.

Insurgent is by my bed in the towering TBR stack, but right now I’m reading BITTERBLUE.

Glad you joined us on the blogfest…and thanks for stopping by my blog. 🙂

    Hugs,
    Lola

    1. It was super scary. I drove I-95 everyday for 2 years while doing my first Master’s at the University of Maryland and came into some sort of a nice routine (knowing what to expect) until that truck decided to take my lane without seeing me. The driver stopped though and was really nice after I emerged in the middle between I-95S and I-95N…Apparently I was in a tad of a shock, apologizing on the phone about the car which could not be salvaged. I have read wonderful things about GRACELING but I have not picked it up yet. However, I started INSURGENT this morning and 😀

    1. Thanks Elizabeth 😀 That post was fun to write!…I started INSURGENT this morning and WOW 😀

  11. FRIENDS is one of my favorite shows of ALL TIME. It never gets old for me. 🙂 I did start reading INSURGENT and am having withdrawls from not being able to read while I teach today. Consolation prize: we’re reading Romeo and Juliet in my classes starting today. 🙂

  12. Hi! I’m a new follower so it was nice to get to know you right away! 🙂 So cool that you live in France. And yes, I started reading Insurgent (after seeing Veronica Roth at a signing yesterday!) and I can’t wait to read the rest.

  13. I’m not sure why but this site is loading incredibly slow for me.
Is anyone else having this issue or is it a issue on my end?
I’ll check back later and see if the problem still exists.

  14. Thanks a bunch for sharing this with all people you actually
recognize whyat you are talking about! Bookmarked.
Kindly also visit my site =). We could have a hyperlink alternzte contract among us

Comments put a smile on my face :-)
